Don’t Start From Scratch: How HR Can Use Its Own History to Put AI to Work

HR leaders increasingly understand the potential of AI. The harder questions are more practical: Where should you start? Which work should you automate first? And how do you build AI that reflects the policies, processes, and judgment unique to your organization?
The answer may already exist inside the work your HR team has completed.

Historical cases, tickets, emails, policies, and other records provide a rich blueprint for understanding what HR teams actually do—not just what a process map says they do. In this session, Clayton Holz, Chief Product Officer at Wisq, will share a practical approach to using that history to accelerate AI adoption.

Attendees will learn how to analyze existing HR work to identify high-impact opportunities, prioritize workflows based on factors such as volume, effort, complexity, and risk, and reconstruct the decisions and steps required to complete them. Clayton will also explore how human review can be designed into AI workflows so teams can delegate more work with confidence rather than simply pursuing maximum automation.

The session will offer HR leaders a framework for moving from AI experimentation to trusted, scalable deployment—without asking their teams to start from a blank page.

This session is hosted by the From Day One editorial team, with support from Wisq.

From Day One is a Recertification Provider for SHRM and HRCI. This session is eligible for 1 credit from both organizations. The Activity IDs will be sent to attendees after the conclusion of the session.
